🌟 Exciting News!!! 🌟 Feb 14, 2025 (Happy Valentine’s Day!)
We are thrilled to share that our program has been featured in Health Affairs Scholar: "Building HOPE: Integrating Community-Based Doula care in Public Hospitals in NYC." Our work aims to address maternal morbidity and mortality disparities in NYC through the integration of culturally aligned, community-based doula services into hospital care settings.
This paper helps highlight the potential of community engagement and healthcare collaboration but also helps us share a new standard for integrating doula services within public health systems to enhance birth outcomes across diverse communities.
A huge thank you to our collaborative team and community partners for their relentless dedication in pioneering a model that truly works towards centering birthing people's needs in maternal health care
Celebrating World Doula Week: March 2024
In Partnership with Womanly Magazine, our team hosted the premiere of five new films to educate and promote the work of doulas, within our own communities.
The films aim to raise awareness about the crucial role of doulas both inside and outside the hospital, as well as the availability of free doula care in NYC, via the HOPE Program. They also highlight how these programs are accessible to individuals facing various challenges like housing insecurity, food insecurity, recent immigration, incarceration, and justice-involvement.
The documentary style films were created in the Haitian Creole, Bangla, Spanish, and English languages to accommodate the diverse population of Queens, NYC.
